Places
Coordinates are those of the present-day place; for battlefields and small sites they are approximate. The names are given in their usual English form with the Arabic beside them.
Graves
A person is placed where the biographers say he or she died or was buried. Where the sources differ, the entry of the person says so; the map shows the more common view.
